The challenge

Vocon prides itself on working as an extension of its clients’ teams, but their legacy collaboration tools made it difficult to visualize ideas in detail, present with impact, or move quickly from concept to review. Existing workflows weren’t supporting their goals of immersing clients in the creative process.

In addition, Vocon designers would waste hundreds of hours rendering designs, exporting them, and then importing them into another application to manipulate or change.

“We wanted a solution that would extend our environment, not replace it,” said Dorsey. “Bluescape was the only platform that allowed us to integrate our existing tools and elevate our process.”

The solution

Bluescape became the digital canvas that unlocked new dimensions in design review and client engagement.

“Bluescape is the only collaboration solution that acts as an open platform with which we could integrate all our design applications, including Enscape, Autodesk AutoCAD, and other VR tools, all powered by NVIDIA to work together,” said Dorsey.

By projecting these environments onto large-format touchscreens or collaborating remotely, Vocon’s teams and clients could “walk through” unbuilt spaces and adjust details on the fly. This approach gave clients a visceral experience—helping them see, understand, and shape their future spaces more clearly than ever before.

“By overlaying our PC desktop in Bluescape and interacting with designs on large format touchscreens, clients can see their ideas come to life, make changes instantly, and feel that new space volumetrically,” Dorsey said. 

“With Bluescape, we’re able to deliver a unique work experience for our internal teams and clients.”

Results

Collaboration across teams and with clients became more fluid, interactive, and immediate. Instead of relying on static decks or navigating folders of files, designers and clients could co-create and revise in the moment.

“Because we can overlay our design tools inside Bluescape and work together in a live workspace, the experience is far more immersive,” said Crystal Knapik, Project Designer. “It’s easier for clients to understand what they’re seeing, and that leads to faster, more aligned decisions.”

Bluescape also helped streamline the capture and storage of design content across teams and locations.

“The ability for our design team to snap images directly into Bluescape is a 10x time savings,” said Dorsey. “And because the content is persistent, our design teams can access content workflows no matter where they are or when they need them.”

“Bluescape helped us go from reviewing ideas to experiencing them,” Dorsey added. “That changes the entire dynamic of the conversation. It’s no longer a presentation—it’s a shared process.”
